What Is the Junior Docent Program?
Junior Docents are trained museum volunteers between the ages of 10 and 15, who help visitors to the museum better understand and appreciate the museum collections and history. Junior Docents interact with guests in a hands-on setting, assist with educational programming, and help community events run smoothly.
Throughout the academic year, Junior Docents will have the opportunity to attend social events with other program participants, take off-site field trips to other local historic sites with Education department staff, and gain experience in the field of public history!
