Family Tours are 90 minutes in duration, and include a guided tour for children and their families, followed by hands-on crafts and activities, held in our History Makers Space, located in the Dairy.

Adults on the Family Tour are able to participate in the free wine tasting, which is included with every paid admission to the site.
Access to the self-guided grounds, restaurants, game area, and winery are included with this ticket; you do not need any additional tickets, unless you want to participate in another program, tour, or experience.

Bring the kids to Belle Meade for a week of fall crafts, science experiments, and seasonal fun. A new theme every day — Leaf Day, Fall Vegetable Day, Apple Day, Fall Animals Day, and Halloween Day — plus a daily scavenger hunt, coloring station, reading nook, and popcorn and lemonade.
Join us for a cozy evening of painting, sipping, and a little autumn magic. Decorate two pumpkins with fall-inspired colors, dried flowers, and botanicals while enjoying a seasonal cocktails, wine, and small bites.
Celebrate Halloween at Belle Meade with candy stations, crafts, hayrides, games, a hay maze, therapy pets, festive photo ops, and more! 🎃 Admission is FREE, with optional face painting for $5 and pumpkin picking & carving for $15 (pre-registration required for pumpkin carving).
Step into the Victorian era for an immersive after-hours experience exploring mourning traditions, Spiritualism, séances, and eerie tales associated with Belle Meade, complete with specialty cocktails and an after-dark visit to the mausoleum. Two tour times available!
What was daily life like for young Nashvillians in the 1880s? In the years between the Civil War and the 20th century, the South experienced many social, economic, and industrial changes. What was it like to grow up in such a time of change? How did their lives compare to ours today? Find out when you tour Belle Meade Mansion to uncover the story of the Harding-Jackson family and the many people who labored on their farm and in their house. Discover more about 1800s technological, scientific, and artistic innovation, followed by a trip to our historic Dairy building for take-home crafts including a tin-punch candle!

Interact with our engaged storytellers as you learn about the African American experience at Belle Meade while touring the Kitchen House, Smoke House, Stables, and Journey Cabin. On your visit, you will learn about the daily life of the children who labored on the Belle Meade Farm in the years surrounding the Civil War. You’ll develop a deeper understanding of the African American experience in the 1800s, from the daily struggles of slavery to the complicated nature of freedom and the ways in which enslaved people survived in difficult times. This tour is followed by a trip to our historic Dairy for take-home activities related to the tour content.
Discover how children and families lived on the Tennessee frontier when you visit the Hardings’ 1807 log cabin. Compare and contrast their home with your own and find out what has changed over time and what has stayed the same! Learn about Robert Green, the head hostler here on the property. Make a bed bug bag, dip a candle, and try your hand at carding wool and playing historic games.

Tour the Belle Meade Mansion to learn about the culture of entertaining and hospitality in the 1800s south. Discover how the tradition of English and American tea parties emerged, spanning from Queen Elizabeth in the 1500s to the Victorian Era in the 1800s. During your very own tea party, practice proper tea party etiquette, complete with sugar cubes and fancy hats!

Experience Christmas at Belle Meade! Go room by room through our Greek Revival Mansion to learn about holiday traditions, see how Christmas trees were decorated, learn about the advent of mass-produced ornaments and cards, find out about historic Christmas cuisine, and learn how the Christmas season was experienced for those who were enslaved. The tour is followed by a trip to our historic Dairy for make-and-take crafts and activities, including paper ornaments and letters to Santa.
