Job Title: Group Sales Manager

About the Position
The Group Sales Manager is responsible for managing, organizing, and enhancing the operations associated with group sales at Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery. This role will oversee relationships with key partners, coordinate group visits, and ensure smooth daily operations within the scope of these responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills, process-driven sales expertise, and a passion for customer experiences.
Duties/Responsibilities
● Group Sales & Relationship Development
o Develop and expand Belle Meade’s relationships with tourism and hospitality partners in Greater Nashville, including hotels, vendors, transportation companies, and other tourism organizations, to increase group bookings.
o Actively solicit bus group sales, ensuring a seamless process from booking through visit execution.
o Serve as the primary on-site contact for bus group arrivals, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer experiences.
o Offer hands-on support for managing large groups, addressing special needs, and ensuring a positive visit for all guests.
● Collaboration & Strategic Input
o Participate in management meetings, offering constructive feedback and insights to support the continuous improvement of operations and decision-making.o Establish and maintain effective communication with vendors to ensure efficiency and success of on-site operations.
Required Skills/Abilities
● Experience in hospitality management, tourism, event coordination, or sales.
● Exceptional organizational and communication abilities, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

The Historic Interpreter shall possess an upbeat and outgoing personality with a team-oriented mindset, conducting tours of Belle Meade Historic Site for diverse audiences. As communications professionals, interpreters are responsible for presenting a variety of tours, programs, and demonstrations to guests by using informal interpretation techniques. Aside from tours, interpreters may perform ticketing duties, guest orientation, and general office work as needed to support the company goals.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct tours throughout the house for guests of all ages in a personable and knowledgeable manner, while providing accurate information relevant to the major themes of the site’s history.
- Welcome the public, collect tickets, and provide general directions to guests that pertain to exhibits and points of interest on-site.
- Display a customer-oriented attitude while interacting with large groups of people daily.
- Assist in providing security for the site, buildings, and collections. Help ensure the safety of guests; respond calmly and professionally to emergencies following all institutional guidelines.
- Participate in training programs and staff meetings to expand knowledge of the site and to strengthen interpretive skills.
- Update and modify tours as new or relevant information becomes available and for changing exhibits.
- Assist with special events and programs, often held on the weekends and during evenings.
- Lead guided educational tours and programs for school-age groups.

- Involves a mix of indoor work for planned events and outdoor activities for walking tours with an exposure to various weather conditions.
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking with the ability to bend, stoop, squat, turn and pivot. Necessitating stamina to navigate uneven terrain and lead tours safely on varying terrains.

- Welcome and greet visitors to the site, collect tickets, and provide guidance on exhibits and points of interest.
- Display a customer-focused demeanor and effectively engage with large daily crowds.
- Provide outstanding customer service and promptly address any inquiries from visitors.
- Develop expertise in all public ticketed experiences and actively promote ticket sales to walk-in visitors.
- Assist in coordinating special events and programs, particularly those held on weekends.
- Fulfill any additional assigned duties as required to support operational needs.

Position Overview
The Museum Gift Shop Store Assistant at Belle Meade Historic Site provides excellent customer service while helping guests find souvenirs and gifts to commemorate their visit. This role supports daily retail operations by assisting guests, maintaining an organized and welcoming store environment, and accurately processing transactions.
Store Assistants contribute to creating a positive and memorable experience for every guest while ensuring the gift shop remains clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Greet and welcome visitors while offering assistance throughout their shopping experience
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to help guests select merchandise
- Respond to store phone calls when it does not interrupt assisting guests
Retail Operations
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and process transactions accurately
- Perform cash counts to reconcile register funds at the beginning and end of shifts
- Post cash entries and deposit funds into the secured safe at closing
- Confirm change levels are prepared for the following business day
Store Organization & Merchandising
- Restock merchandise from overflow inventory as needed
- Assist with pricing, labeling, and displaying new merchandise
- Maintain familiarity with store inventory to assist guests effectively
Opening & Closing Procedures
- Prepare the store for daily opening, including confirming doors are unlocked and ready for guests
- Complete register reconciliation at the end of the day
- Close and secure the store by locking doors and turning off lights and equipment
Store Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store
- Complete assigned cleaning duties according to the daily task list
Team Roles
Gift shop team members rotate through multiple service stations, including:
